The
mission of this web site is to promote and to create an awareness
of the history and cultural legacy of Redding, Connecticut,
Georgetown, Connecticut and Branchville, Connecticut.
When
I got started with this project the intent was to make it
easy for people to find historical information about Redding
from anywhere at anytime. Over the years I've found that online
historical resources have many advantages... they are available
24/7 365 days a year, they can be used by multiple people
at the same time, and they can be updated quickly should new
information be found on a topic. The one disadvantage is that
history websites are usually owned by one person and should
something happen to that person the website goes away when
the web hosting bills are not paid.
To
ensure that this website stays online for as long as possible
I'm asking people to donate to a web hosting fund. The idea
is to pay forward the web hosting account fees to ensure that
this website remains online with or without me. And yes, I
do intend to keep living, I'm just trying to be proactive
here. Your mindset changes at 40. :)
Web
hosting costs me $60 a year. So it will not be all that difficult
to pay forward multiple years on the account if people are
willing to help out. I'll update how many years are pre-paid
in coming weeks.
The E-Book
for My Brother Sam is Dead is ready and you can get it
at Amazon.
